$10 Million Dollar Challenge for Students to Succeed

“You need to make sure you have a plan, because your plan will lead to a banner, OK? It will lead to an opportunity to go to college,”  said Reading Senior High School teacher, Eric Knorr of Reading, PA.

The banners Knorr talks about are college banners,  hung throughout his classroom, they were brought back by former students who beat the odds by graduating from college. Reading Senior High School is known for having one of the highest dropout rates in the state of Pennsylvania, with 60 percent of the population being Hispanic and speaking little or no English. To combat this statistic, Reading’s Alvernia University announced a $10 million  scholarship challenge in order to help students prepare for college work and succeed!

Reading Collegiate Scholars program is well underway to help students prepare for college through its mentorship and tutoring programs. #SweetCandor TV looks forward to the progress of these bright young minds!
